Cambridge CARES PhD student Markus Hofmeister and Software Developer Shin Zert Phua represented The World Avatar™ at CUE2023-Applied Energy Symposium and Forum in Japan.
Mr Hofmeister introduced their recent work across flood resilience, smart routing, data interoperability and cross-sector disaster response. The consortium are building capabilities to automatically assess potential flood hazards where people and buildings are at risk and how to best plan through respective disaster situations.
There is also ongoing work on a context-aware routing agent providing dynamic insights into reachable populations prior to, during, and post weather disasters. The presentation also covered work done by their colleagues from CMCL as part of the UK’s Climate Resilience Demonstrator (CReDo) project.
