Scalable and Connected
The World Avatar is scalable across both length & time. It can describe the behaviour of any complex system, ranging from quantum calculations to nationwide simulations. Moreover, each new application is entirely interoperable with everything else in The World Avatar, so its capabilities improve as more datasets and software are introduced into the ecosystem. Cross-sector problems are most effectively tackled with cross-sector solutions.
The World Avatar was used to derive new constructible Metal-Organic Polyhedra (MOPs). By defining an ontology, agents were able to generate new targets for future chemical analysis.
By enabling interoperability between sensor suites, systems, and BIM software, whole buildings can be instantiated allowing owners to visualise their assets in real time.
The World Avatar scales up from buildings to model whole cities. Succesful applications range from district heating networks to better understanding flood risks and associated costs
A description of the UK gas transmission network was instantiated. This work enabled complex large-scale queries to be perceived, such as the social impact of heat pump uptake.
How does it work?
The World Avatar is a knowledge platform of tools and services that can be used to create an individual digital twin, or a network of digital twins, to provide a platform of data and model interoperability.
This platform can then be used to connect disparate data silos, chain together complex models, provide querying services via intelligent agents, and host cutting edge visualisation and analysis tools.
