Can Singapore prepare for various sea level rise scenarios if we have the tools to plan ahead?
Cambridge CARES Director Prof Markus Kraft presented The World Avatar (TWA) project to the Centre for Climate Research Singapore. TWA is a dynamic knowledge graph developed at CARES that can be scaled beyond a single area to various use cases.
For this presentation, Prof Kraft focused on using TWA for vulnerability assessments of sea level rise in Singapore and its broader impacts on urban elements such as land plots, buildings, population, cultural sites, road networks, etc.
TWA’s methodology and findings have recently been published (Applied Sciences MDPI) in a paper with CCRS and the Earth Observatory of Singapore – Link
